OK, so I'm still pissed about Obama being president, not gonna lie. But I won't deny that my post from last night was a little irrational, and that calling Obama voters "ignorant morons" was a little harsh. I usually don't get into politics since it ruins friendships and stuff, and pretty much all politicians on both sides are pretty corrupt anyways, but I understand that not everyone has the same opinions as me, and I didn't mean to sound hateful or anything towards Obama supporters. To be honest, I wouldn't have had a problem with Obama if he wasn't so sketchy, but that's just my opinion. I know a lot of Obama supporters think that people who voted for McCain are "racist" but for me and a lot of my friends, that is not the case...I can't speak for them but from what I can see, he has socialist tendencies, not to mention his birthplace and qualifications are questionable. The only thing that REALLY bothered me was that there were voters on both sides who voted for either Obama because he was black, or for McCain because he wasn't, and didn't bother to get informed on either candidate's platforms.

But of course, since all is said and done and there is nothing we can do about it now, we'll just have to watch the next 4 years unfold and see how Obama does as the new POTUS. I will give him props for becoming the first black Pres, and that's a great achievement for anyone really. But despite the outcome, I'm glad that so many people got out and voted this year.

My post from last night was just me venting and being pissy (and opinionated), and I had no intention of offending anybody on my friends list and if I did, I'm really sorry. :( This is why I usually don't get political lol

Most of my friends list (and my own journal) the other night was full of joy for Obama winning and it was strange to see one that wasn't, haha! I don't take offense to it, I mean, I was the same way the past eight years when Bush won and then won again. Your opinion is your opinion.

I do agree with you when you mentioned voting for someone without looking at their platforms. I think it sucks that people based their vote on the color of someone's skin! You need to look at both sides, decide who you like best because of their platform and then vote for that person. That's what I did at the beginning. I went to both candidate's websites, looked at all the info and then made my choice.

I think Obama has a lot of work to do and it's not going to be easy, but I do think we'll see good things come of this. =)

Oh and p.s. Your icon has to be one of my most favorite icons ever on LJ!

Finally! A rational comment from an Obama supporter! (THANK YOU!!)...and also the first comment that doesn't insinuate that I'm some kind of homophobic racist or something just because I personally didn't vote Obama.

It baffles me that people would do that though, considering that presidential elections are a big deal b/c the person elected is in charge of running our country for 4 whole years, and I can't see how people can take that lightly...

Obama has a lot of shit to deal with when he takes office, and even though i don't agree with his policies at all, I will stand behind him because that's what a true American would do (speaking of which, I hate those celebs who bitched about wanting to leave the country and whatnot when Bush got re-elected in 04, it was immature and unpatriotic imo)

and thanks for the icon love, lol! it's one of my all time fave Blanche scenes haha, and one of my lj friends made it for me
